Leah Zyznomirski has exemplified leadership, commitment, and service throughout her 10-year ringette career. Ringette helped her develop confidence, resilience, and strong leadership skills, while teaching her the importance of teamwork and perseverance. Whether stepping up to play goalie for a second team to honour a commitment or mentoring younger athletes, Leah has demonstrated a remarkable dedication to supporting others and making a positive impact both on and off the ice. She will be attending Mount Royal University this fall and looks forward to continuing her involvement in ringette as a coach and leader.
Brooklynn Campbell has been a dedicated member of the ringette community for 12 years, progressing from Active Start through U19 while competing with both South Calgary Ringette and Calgary AA programs. Alongside her success as a player, Brooklynn has demonstrated a strong commitment to giving back through junior coaching, officiating, and volunteer service. She has served as a junior coach for multiple teams, earned her Ringette Alberta officiating certification, volunteered in her community, and contributed as a sports medicine trainer through Ernest Manning High School. Brooklynn's leadership, dedication to mentorship, and passion for supporting athletes both on and off the ice exemplify the values of South Calgary Ringette. She will be attending Mount Royal University this fall to pursue a degree in Nursing.
Catherine Griffiths has been a dedicated member of the ringette community for 13 years, excelling as both an athlete and mentor. Throughout her career, she has achieved success at the highest levels of competition, including Provincial championships, National recognition, international gold medals, and leadership roles as a team captain. Beyond her accomplishments on the ice, Catherine has made a lasting impact through junior coaching, volunteerism, and mentorship. As a junior coach, she helped guide the U14B Avalanche to both City and Provincial Championships and was nominated for Ringette Alberta Junior Coach of the Year. Catherine credits ringette with teaching her leadership, resilience, teamwork, and communication while fostering lifelong friendships and a strong sense of community. She will be attending the University of Saskatchewan this fall, carrying forward the values and experiences she gained through the sport.
Chloe Popiel has demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, and commitment throughout her 11-year ringette career. A five-time team captain, Chloe has competed at the highest levels of the sport, including Calgary AA, Alberta Elite in Finland, and the Alberta Winter Games. Beyond her accomplishments on the ice, she has given back through mentoring younger athletes, junior coaching, and serving on the Ringette Alberta Athlete Advisory Council, where she helped represent the voice of athletes across the province. Chloe is also an active community volunteer, supporting youth sailing programs, the Calgary Food Bank, The Mustard Seed, and other charitable organizations. Her dedication to leadership, community service, and athlete development exemplifies the values of South Calgary Ringette. Chloe has received early acceptance into Engineering programs at both the University of Victoria and UBC Okanagan and is well-positioned for continued success in her academic and athletic pursuits
Jada Robertson has shown remarkable personal growth, resilience, and leadership throughout her nine years in ringette. What began as a challenge outside her comfort zone became a transformative experience that helped her develop confidence, determination, and lifelong friendships. As a player, junior coach, and volunteer, Jada has given back to the sport through mentoring younger athletes, supporting goalie development programs, and participating in Come Try Ringette initiatives. After a season-ending injury in her final year of ringette, she turned adversity into opportunity by embracing coaching and discovering a passion for helping othersโan experience that inspired her future career aspirations in healthcare. Jada continues to promote and grow the sport while attending the University of Alberta, where she is studying Biological Sciences. Her dedication to leadership, community, and personal growth exemplifies the values of South Calgary Ringette.
