2024 Conditioning Camps
Get your friends together and sign up for our pre-season skates!
SCRA conditioning camps registration will open Summer 2024
Each condition camp includes two skating sessions put on by SCRA Coaches. The conditioning camps are by age groups, so please ensure you pick the correct age category when selecting the camp. The cost is $50 for two ice times (sessions cannot be adjusted) with the goalie session at $25.
These camps are designed to help your athlete prepare for evaluations and will focus on the types of skills and drills the athletes are likely to see at evaluations. Active Start and first year U10 is all about seeing friends from last season and making new friends on the ice while doing some fun drills and games. U10-U14 will have a blend of conditioning, skills, UAA drills, and scrimmage. U16-U19 will be 3v3 scrimmage.
There are limited spots available for all conditioning camps and registration is on a first come basis.
GOALIE SESSIONS
SCRA is also hosting a FREE Come Try Goaltending Clinic for Athletes in U10, U12 or U14 this season who may have an interest in playing goaltender.
Ringette Alberta has made a change for the upcoming season, allowing “full time” goalies at the U12 level to play only 75% of the season which will require our league to foster the development of more part time goalies per team.
We would love to invite any athletes that played for you this season who showed interest and proficiency in goaltending to, our Come Try Goaltending Clinic with current SCRA Goaltenders playing at the U12, 14, 16 age levels and Goalie Coaches. We know that interest and enthusiasm from Coaching staff means a lot to young athletes, so we hope your invitation sparks an interest in your players.
The purpose of this clinic is to eagerly invite players to come try goaltending in a welcoming environment with other novice goalies and experienced coaches. The players will try on properly fit goalie equipment, learn what it’s called, how it works, practice some basic goal tending movements and ask lots of questions of “goalie mentors” to foster a supportive learning environment for our players and talk about what it takes to be a goalie! Goalie coaches can be available to answer any questions about developing a goalie as a parent or coach, as well!
Our hope is that this session will foster players desire to be a goalie and learn the position.
Registration will open Summer 2024!
