Volunteering with SCRA
Volunteers are essential to the success of SCRA. Our programs are made possible by members who generously contribute their time and energy throughout the season.
Whether you volunteer at an event, help behind the scenes, or take on a larger association role, there are lots of ways to get involved and support our athletes and ringette community.

Your Volunteer Commitment
Each SCRA family is responsible for completing the volunteer commitment associated with their player registration:
- 100 volunteer credits, or a minimum of 8 hours, per player
- Volunteer requirements must be completed by April 30 of the current season
- Credits are earned through eligible volunteer roles that support the operation of SCRA
Volunteer opportunities will be shared throughout the season.
Prefer to Opt Out?
Families may choose to opt out of the SCRA volunteer commitment during registration.
The Volunteer Opt-Out Fee is $350 per player.
Important: Opting out of the SCRA volunteer commitment does not remove the family's responsibility to complete team-level duties, such as off-ice officiating (for example, timekeeping, scorekeeping, shot clock and penalty box duties) and other team support roles.
If the Volunteer Commitment Is Not Completed
Families who have not completed their volunteer commitment by April 30 will be charged a non-fulfilment fee equal to the season's Volunteer Opt-Out Fee.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer opportunities come up throughout the season and may include event support, association initiatives, committees, and leadership roles.
